EXCEEDINGLY STYLISH WIN FOR DIVA

EXCEEDINGLY STYLISH WIN FOR DIVA

Exceedingly Diva put the colts in their place with a thoroughly likeable first success in the opening division of the six furlong novice stakes at Salisbury on Wednesday.

Having shown bags of promise in finishing second on her racecourse debut at Windsor in June, she took a significant step forward by making all the running to win comfortably  with something to spare.

Taking full advantage of her draw next to the rail, leading apprentice Kieran Shoemark popped her out in front and dictated matters throughout before they readily saw off the challenge of Kick On Kick On by a length.

Well bought by Marcus Tregoning for 46,000 Euros as a yearling, Exceedingly Diva looks a filly of some potential.

By the top class sire Exceed and Excel, she is closely related on the dam’s side to the smart filly Rumoush and the 1,000 Guineas winner Ghanaati.

In time Exceedingly Diva will surely be a valuable commodity at stud but before then she should enjoy an exciting career on the racecourse.
