COMFORTABLE VICTORY FOR ATALANTA BREEZE
Atalanta Breeze gained the fourth success of her career with a comfortable victory in a Class 5 handicap over twelve furlongs at Brighton on Monday.
I was thrilled for her owner Sue Sharp who is one of my longest standing owners while her father also had horses with me.
Atalanta Breeze wasn’t really firing at home earlier in the season so we have had to be patient and wait for her to shine.
But I’ve been really pleased with her work recently and was hopeful of a good showing at Brighton even though she hadn’t run since late in December last year.
She tends to go well fresh and once Harry Davies switched her to the far rail as they raced down the hill she always looked to be in control.
With the rest of the field sticking to the stands side Atalanta Breeze was in front well over a furlong out and keep on strongly to beat Divine Comedy by two lengths.
