COMFORTABLE WIN FOR MISS BLUEBELLE AT WOLVERHAMPTON
Miss Bluebelle gave Marcus Tregoning the perfect start to 2024 with a decisive victory in the colours of Sir Thomas Pilkington under the floodlights at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.
She had run very well when finishing second at the track on her previous visit late in November and racing off a mark of 80 handsomely beat a competitive field in this Class 4 Handicap over nine and a half furlongs.
Dougie Costello adopted positive tactics on Miss Bluebelle who was always in the first two, led again two furlongs out and steadily drew clear to beat Ernie’s Valentine by three lengths.
Two of her four victories over the past 18 months have come at Wolverhampton and her trainer will undoubtedly be looking for further options for her at the Midlands course in the weeks ahead once the handicapper has had his say.
