Mohtarrif looks to have a bright future after his cosy success over a mile at Lingfield on Saturday on his second start.
A scopey colt by Cape Cross showed bags of promise when staying on strongly from the rear late on into fourth place on his racecourse debut at Chelmsford three weeks ago.
Mohtarrif has clearly learned from that experience as was soon nicely placed behind the leader Metatron as the field settled down at Lingfield.
He was poised to pounce on the final turn, quickly took command and though idling in front late on he kept on well to readily repel the late challenges of Fields of Athenry and Ritchie Valens.
This was a thoroughly likeable performance by a colt who can make his mark this year in the colours of Sheikh Hamdan.
