Landue doubled his score for the season with a hard earned success in the colours of his trainer at Ffos Las on Monday.

Stepping up in trip has proved to be the key to this progressive three year old colt who got off the mark five weeks ago on his first attempt at ten furlongs and was clearly suited by racing over a mile and a half this time.

With three of the seven runners withdrawn from the Class 6 apprentice handicap Landue was sent off an odds on shot in the hands of the stable’s experienced claimer Tyler Saunders.

Held up in the early stages he was delivered with a steady run to lead inside the final furlong and win a shade cosily by three quarters of a length from the second favourite Sky Rocket.

The handicapper cannot be too harsh on the winner after this narrow victory and there is every chance that Landue can remain competitive in the weeks ahead.
