STYLISH SUCCESS FOR ALERTA MAXIMA AT GOODWOOD
Alerta Maxima maintained the sparkling form of Marcus Tregoning’s team with a stylish success in a strongly contested fillies maiden over six furlongs at Goodwood on Friday evening in the colours of her owner breeder Kirsten Rausing.
She was the first two year old winner of the season for the yard and the first winner for her sire Circus Maximus.
Alerta Maxima had shown plenty of promise on her debut at a Goodwood late in May and took a big step forward as she overcame a wide draw on the way to beating Mollie Foster a shade cosily by a length.
Tregoning reflected “It is lovely to train a nice filly for Kirsten Rausing who has been such a loyal supporter and stood my Derby winner Sir Percy at her Lanwades Stud for many years.
“Alerta Maxima has been progressing at home and I like her a lot. She is tough and can hopefully go onto better things over further.
“I trained her dam Alamode who was by Sir Percy. She was tiny but talented, also won at Goodwood on her second start as a two year old and was Group placed”.
