Royal Blaze wins at Leicester
Royal Blaze made light of an opening mark of 66 with a fluent success in a nursery at Leicester on Sunday in the colours of Whitsbury 111.
Despite showing signs of inexperience he had displayed distinct promise on his first two starts at Goodwood and Brighton before finding underfoot conditions too quick at Salisbury late in June.
Stepped up to seven furlongs at Leicester Royal Blaze came with a promising run from midfield to lay down a strong challenge approaching the final furlong before readily drawing clear as he beat Forever A Diamond by two lengths.
It was a pleasing victory by an imposing colt who should have more to offer once the handicapper has had his say.
He looks well bought by Marcus Tregoning for 18,000 guineas at Tattersalls Book 3 sale last year October.
