WIN FOR ZUHAIR AT FFOS LAS

Zuhair doubled his score for the season with a pleasing victory from the front in a seven furlongs Novice race at Ffos Las on Tuesday.

Marcus Tregoning suggested beforehand that gelding had been the making of Zuhair and there was much to like about the way the chestnut son of Showcasing kept on willingly to see off the challenge of Victorious Night who was in receipt of 10lbs.

Having won nicely on his seasonal debut at Nottingham over a mile 54 days ago Zuhair readily handled the step down in trip at Ffos Las.

His ears were pricked throughout as he bowled along in the lead and he gave the impression he could have found a fair bit more if necessary in the closing stages.

Successful jockey Dane O’Neill suggested that Zuhair could be even better with something to aim at and that he would enjoy returning to a mile or even further on the alll-weather.
