SPARKLING DEBUT FOR RIBHI AT SALISBURY
Ribhi maintained the fine recent form of the team with a sparkling debut in a Class 4 EBF Novice Stakes over six furlongs at Salisbury on Wednesday.
Owned and bred by the Shadwell Estate company he defied his starting price of 20-1 with a decisive victory which offered boundless promise for the future.
Soon nicely placed behind the leaders Ribhi made eye-catching progress on the far rail approaching the final furlong before edging ahead of the favourite Buoyant and readily stretching clear to win by two and three-quarter lengths.
A big, scopey grey colt by Dark Angel, Ribhi finished full of running and it was encouraging to note that his winning time was a second faster than that recorded by Boafo Boy in the first division of the race.
Marcus Tregoning is sure to have some interesting races mapped out for his talented newcomer in the second half of the season.
