IMPRESSIVE WIN FOR ZUHAIR
Zuhair made a striking seasonal debut with an impressive success in a competitive maiden over eight and a half furlongs at Nottingham on Thursday.
It was a notable upgrade on his only run at Newbury as a juvenile in September when inexperience cost him dear.
An attractive chestnut type he was subsequently gelded and won at Nottingham in the style of a horse who can progress through the season.
Always handily placed just behind the leaders Zuhair eased into contention once switched off the rails by Jason Watson, led inside the final furlong and stayed on willingly to beat Matamua by one and a half lengths with the favourite Satono Chevalier back in fourth place.
The manner in which Zuhair finished full of running in the colours of the Shadwell Estate Company will have quickened the pulse of Marcus Tregoning who is a big fan of his sire Showcasing.
